- Diagnostic endoscopy: esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, capsule endoscopy (examination done by swallowing about 2cm capsule in size; observe mainly small intestine), ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography; observe biliary tract and pancreatic duct using ERCP and X-ray), endoscopic ultrasonography (observe submucosal layer of gastrointestinal tract by mounting ultrasound at the tip of endoscope)
